Logitech G, a gaming division of Logitech, and Tencent’s partnership has spawned a new handheld gaming device. It will be a cloud gaming device and WinFuture has been able to unearth a few key details about its specifications. Let’s have a look at them below.
According to the report, there have been multiple spottings of a Logitech device with model number “GR006” in GeekBench listings from March 2022. The device is believed to be the upcoming Logitech G gaming handheld. As per the Geekbench listing, the gaming device is powered by an octa-core chipset with two cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The report speculates that it could be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, which was a mid-range mobile processor built on the 8nm fabrication process. These results may seem too low and you may even write off this device as unimpressive. But, outright power isn’t what Logitech is targeting. It will be a cloud gaming device and the processor and GPU combo are expected to handle most cloud-based games with ease. Furthermore, the Snapdragon processor supports displays with up to Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz screen refresh rate.
Logitech has announced that it will offer Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now support on its upcoming gaming handheld to enable users to enjoy AAA game titles. Tipster Evan Blass had leaked some images of the device showcasing its design and UI elements. It was seen with pre-loaded apps such as Google Play Store, Chrome, and YouTube, suggesting that the handheld could be running a custom skin on top of the Android 11 OS. It also includes Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Steam support.
