Motorola’s next-generation foldable smartphone, the Moto Razr 2022, is confirmed to arrive on August 2, 2022, alongside the Moto X30 Pro in China. Now, the brand has dropped a new teaser of the device revealing its outer design. The coloured cover screen seems larger and the device gets dual camera sensors flanked by an LED flashlight. The cover screen can be used to shoot selfies, check notifications, reply to your social media messages, access third-party apps, and a lot more.

Going by the teasers, it comes with a Motorola logo and Razr branding at the rear. The Twitter post above reveals the entire design of the smartphone. The inner screen is speculated to be a 6.7-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a centred hole punch camera cut-out on the display. The outer display is rumoured to be a 3-inch colour screen.
Motorola dropped a teaser image recently, confirming the device to be powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The same was confirmed when the smartphone visited the Geekbench database. The Motorola Razr 2022 with model number XT2251-1 was seen scoring 1251 points in the single-core test and 4076 points in the multi-core test. The listing also confirmed that there will be a 12GB RAM variant and it will run on MyUI 4.0 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
As per rumour mills, the foldable smartphone will be equipped with a 50MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultrawide shooter. Selfie and video calling duties will be handled by a 32MP sensor housed in the punch hole camera cutout on the display.
The Moto Razr 2022 is expected to pack in a 3,500mAh battery under its hood, which is significantly larger than the original Moto Razr’s 2,510mAh and Moto Razr 2019’s 2,800mAh. You can expect faster charging support in this iteration. Expect the company to reveal more information about the device ahead of the launch. As for the pricing, the Moto Razr 2022 could cost around $1,000 (approx. ₹80,000) in most markets.
