The leaks and rumours surrounding Motorola’s highly anticipated Moto X30 Pro (codenamed Motorola Frontier) and the Moto Razr 2022 foldable smartphones have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. The Motorola Frontier was first leaked in January 2022, with no official launch date, even after more than six months in development. Moreover, there were reports of the Motorola Razr 2022 being delayed.
Finally, Motorola has come out shooting down the rumours of delays by confirming the launch date of the two devices. The Lenovo-backed company shared a teaser image, suggesting it will introduce the Moto X30 Pro and the Moto Razr 2022 in the Chinese market on August 2, 2022.
Going by the teaser image, the camera island of the first device on the left matches the previously leaked Motorola Frontier renders. The Motorola Frontier is expected to be named the Moto X30 Pro in China, while the global version may carry the Moto Edge 30 Ultra tag. It will be the world’s first smartphone to pack in a 200MP camera sensor. Also, it is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The Asus ROG Phone 6 series was the first to be powered by this processor, followed by a few others like the upcoming iQOO 9T and the OnePlus 10T.

The Motorola Frontier, aka Moto X30 Pro, is rumoured to sport a 6.67-inch POLED curved screen with Full HD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. Apart from the ludicrous primary sensor, it might feature a 50MP ultrawide shooter and a 12MP telephoto sensor. It is expected to get 125W fast charging support and wireless charging at 30W or 50W.
Coming to the foldable smartphone, the Moto Razr 2022, is also rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which would be a significant performance boost over the Snapdragon 765G of the Moto Razr 5G. It will flaunt a 6.7-inch inner screen and a 3-inch cover screen. The device may feature 50MP primary and 13MP ultrawide cameras. Notable leakster Evan Blass had shared a hands-on video of the Moto Razr 2022 foldable smartphone leaving nothing to the imagination. Let’s see how the story unfolds on August 2, 2022, when Motorola will take the wraps off its hotly anticipated devices. The company will also announce its plans to take these devices out of China.
