POCO M5 India Launch Set For September 5

POCO India has been teasing the launch of a new M-series smartphone for the past few days. Today, the company has revealed that the upcoming M-series smartphone, dubbed the POCO M5, will launch on September 5 in the country. The POCO M5 will be the brand’s first smartphone under the M5 lineup, and similar to other POCO devices, it will be sold exclusively via Flipkart in the country. POCO took to its social media channels to announce the launch date of the POCO M5 in India.

Alongside the launch date, the brand has also revealed the first look of the upcoming POCO M5. Going by the teaser, it appears that the smart[hone will appear identical to the POCO M4 5G which was launched back in April in the country. The teaser shared by the company showcases the POCO Yellow colour variant.

Going by the launch teaser, the POCO M5 will come with a leather textured back panel. The device will feature a bezel-less display with a waterdrop notch and a chin, similar to the POCO M4 5G. However, compared to its predecessor, the upcoming M5 series smartphone will offer a triple-rear camera setup. To those unaware, the last gen M-series phone offered a dual-rear camera setup.

POCO had previously confirmed that the upcoming M-series smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor. The brand also claims that the POCO M5 will be the most powerful smartphone in the ₹10,000 to 13,000 segment in the Indian market.

According to an earlier report, the POCO M5 4G might feature a 6.58-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The upcoming handset is tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery unit and 33W fast charging support. It will reportedly offer a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
