Poco M5, M5s To Launch On September 5 Globally

After a series of leaks and rumours, Poco has finally announced that it will release the M5 series of smartphones on September 5, 2022, in global markets. To recall, the series consists of two smartphones—the Poco M5 and the Poco M5s. The news comes after the brand recently revealed the same date for the Poco M5 India launch. The global launch event for the Poco M5 series will start at 20:00 PM (GMT+8) and will be live-streamed across the company’s social media handles. Let us take a look at what the upcoming Poco smartphones will offer in terms of specifications.

Poco M5, M5s Specifications (Expected)

Poco has released an official poster, announcing the global launch date for the Poco M5 and the Poco M5s. The smartphones will debut on September 5, 2022 at 20:00 GMT+8. However, the post doesn’t mention any other details related to the upcoming Poco devices.

Based on previous reports, the Poco M5 will feature a 6.58-inch LCD panel, which may support FHD+ resolution. Powering the device will reportedly be a Helio G99 processor. The Poco M5 could be launched in three configurations—4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage, 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.

When it comes to the battery, the smartphone is said to be backed by a 5,000mAh unit with support for 33W fast charging. In terms of software, the device is expected to boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. The Poco M5 is also expected to feature a leather-like design on the back panel and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Moving on to the Poco M5s, the smartphone is expected to arrive in three storage variants—4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. While other specifications of the device remain unknown, it might be launched in white, grey, and blue shades.
