Realme 9i 5G With Dimensity 810 To Arrive On August 18 In India

The Realme 9i 5G smartphone has been a long time coming. The moniker first popped up early in 2022 when Realme India CEO, Madhav Sheth, denied rumours of this device arriving in India. Later, a new report emerged that suggested Realme would introduce the handset in June 2022, which didn’t happen.

Finally, the Oppo sub-brand has confirmed that its new Realme 9i 5G will be joining the other 5G devices in its lineup in India. Realme’s official teaser reveals that its new mid-ranger will make its debut on August 18, 2022 in India. It is likely to be a digital launch event and will commence at 11:30 AM on August 18, 2022. 

Realme 9i 5G: Design, Features

Going by the teaser image, the Realme 9i  5G’s rear design looks vastly different when compared to the Realme 9i 4G model. It comes with a flat rear panel and flat sides compared to the curved rear back and rounded-off edges of the Realme 9i 4G.

The Realme 9i 5G is also devoid of a camera island, which makes it a unique-looking device in Realme’s current lineup of handsets. In terms of optics, it gets a triple camera setup at the rear. Realme is known for experimenting with different finishes for the rear panels of its devices. The Realme 9i 5G is no different, as it gets a new laser light finish on the back panel. Thankfully, there’s no “Dare To Leap” branding here.

Realme has also confirmed that its new 5G smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset, which also does duty in the company’s Realme 9 5G, Narzo 50 5G, and Realme 8S 5G, among other smartphones. The chipset can also be found in other handsets such as the Redmi Note 11T 5G, Poco M4 Pro 5G, Infinix Note 12 5G, and a few others. 

The teaser image doesn’t reveal the front look of the device. However, expect it to sport an LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a left-aligned punch hole camera cutout just like the 4G model. There’s a power button placed on the left side of the device, which could be embedded with a fingerprint sensor. In terms of battery, it is likely to get a 5,000mAh one coupled with fast charging support. Expect the brand to drop more such teasers till its launch.
