Redmi K50S, K50S Pro Teased To Launch With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Processor

Redmi is rumoured to be working on launching two new smartphones, dubbed the Redmi K50S and the Redmi K50S Pro. There have been a couple of reports suggesting the model numbers and codenames of the devices. In a recent development, Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing, took to Weibo to tease an upcoming flagship phone, which will feature the Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 processor. It is being anticipated that it could be an upcoming Redmi K50S series smartphone, which is expected to launch in China in August.

Redmi K50S, K50S Pro Expected To Launch In August

Right after the launch of the iQOO 10 series of smartphones in China, Weibing teased the arrival of a new device with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The teaser is most likely related to the launch of the Redmi K50S series, which is expected to feature the latest processor from Qualcomm.

Based on past reports, a Xiaomi phone with model number 22081212C was spotted on the CMIIT certification website. The device was also approved by China’s 3C authority earlier this month. The listing revealed that the smartphone will arrive with a 120W fast charger. It is being anticipated that the device in question could be made official with the Redmi K50S Pro moniker in China. Since the smartphone has already been listed on the 3C certification website, it can be expected to launch in August this year,

Meanwhile, the alleged Redmi K50S has been spotted with the model number 22071212AC on the CMIIT certification website. The smartphone has not yet bagged any certification in China.

As for the specifications, the Redmi K50S Pro is expected to feature a 120Hz OLED display, an SD8+G1 chip, 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. The smartphone is also tipped to debut as Xiaomi’s first 200MP camera phone. The Redmi K50S and the Redmi K50S Pro smartphones could be rebadged as the Xiaomi 12T and the Xiaomi 12T Pro in the global market.
