You can now choose to share your live location with a special friend without being visible to the entire community on Snapchat.

In order to share your live location with a user, you must add them as friends on the app. First-time users will see a pop-up window that reminds them that the live location sharing is just intended for close family and friends. This seems to address any privacy issues that could emerge as a result of the new feature.
To share your real-time location on Snapchat, simply go to your friend’s profile and scroll down to find the Share My Live Location option. Snapchat will show a pop-up to inform you about the new feature. Tap Sounds good! and select the time duration (from 15 minutes to 8 hours) for which you want to share your location. Finally, you will see your Bitmoji with a LIVE icon, which won’t be visible to others on the app.
However, you cannot share your location with multiple friends using the Temporary Live Location feature. The feature is said to be an extension of the existing Snap Map feature on Snapchat. While Snap Map updates location information only when the app is open, the latest feature continues to show your location for the pre-selected time frame.
The new Snapchat feature seems to work in line with the live location sharing with contacts on WhatsApp. Snapchat has introduced the feature after receiving community feedback on how the app is being used among the youth and to make the platform safer for youngsters.
