The Linkbuds S truly wireless lightweight headset from Sony is now available in a new iteration. According to the company, the Linkbuds S is now available in Earth Blue, which is constructed from recycled water bottles and delivered in plastic-free packaging. A new LinkBuds UC for Microsoft Teams is also available, with tailored capabilities, Teams-specific features, seamless switching between devices, and more. The LinkBuds UC, on the other hand, will cost $249.99 (about ₹20,500) and will be available in Winter 2022 via Sony Electronics and Sony-authorized stores.
LinkBuds S “Earth Blue”
The LinkBuds S Earth Blue retains the same lightweight design, but this time, sections of the body and case of the LinkBuds S in Earth Blue are built from recycled water bottle components, resulting in a one-of-a-kind marble pattern. Sony claims the entire LinkBuds series is plastic-free and the headphones are manufactured with recycled components from automobile parts.
Sony LinkBuds S “Earth Blue” is a project to promote Sony Group’s “Road to Zero,” a long-term environmental plan aimed at reducing the company’s environmental impact to zero by 2050. Sony will also provide a much-needed and useful functionality to the LinkBuds series (excluding LinkBuds UC for Teams) by releasing a software update in November 2022 that will enable multipoint connection, which will let users connect to two devices at the same time.
LinkBuds UC For Teams
The Sony Linkbuds UC for Microsoft Teams offers capabilities to make online meetings more convenient, and it is also Microsoft Teams certified. Customers can effortlessly answer calls by tapping the headphones, silence the microphone by tapping the right earbud three times, or use the broad area tap.
Sony’s Headphones Connect App allows users to customise Microsoft Teams-specific capabilities on the LinkBuds, such as accepting calls and raising hands for meetings. There’s also an included USB transceiver and Bluetooth, using which users can seamlessly switch between their PC and phone. Another advantages includes the ability to transition between Microsoft Teams sessions on the phone and on the PC without needing to reconnect their LinkBuds.
