Asus is launching its first foldable OLED laptop in India in November. The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED laptop is set to launch in India on November 10, ushering in a new era of computing that embraces the foldable display technology made popular by smartphone brands like Samsung and Motorola. That said, this is the second such commercial foldable laptop to launch in India, with the debut honours going to Lenovo with the ThinkPad X1 Fold launched last year. 

The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold was first showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 in January this year. The company has already started pre-orders for the cutting-edge laptop. Users can pre-book their purchase till November 9, after which the deliveries are expected to start. Being a premium offering, it’s unlikely that Asus will float too many stocks for the Indian market, so pre-ordering is your best bet to get the Zenbook 17 Fold. 

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Specifications And Features 

The Zenbook 17 Fold is the world’s first 17.3-inch OLED foldable laptop. It features a single 17.3-inch OLED display with 4:3 aspect ratio and 2.5K screen resolution. This monolithic display can fold from the middle to become two 3:2 displays with Full HD resolution, each measuring 12.5 inches. The middle of the display is supported on a 180-degree hinge that controls the folding mechanism. 

Asus is also bundling a Bluetooth keyboard with trackpad that sits on top of the bottom display when folded to act as a traditional laptop. If that’s not your jam, you can also use the bottom display as a touch keyboard to type. 

The foldable laptop runs on the 12th gen Intel Core i7 processor with integrated Iris Xe graphics and up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD storage. The laptop features two USB-C Thunderbolt 4.0 ports with support for fast charging its 75Wh battery. 

As for the display, Asus has obtained a Dolby Vision certification and Pantone validation for it. There is also a 5MP webcam for video calls.

The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold is priced quite steep since it is introducing a new technology. The foldable laptop will retail in India for a price of ₹3,29,990. But if you are pre-ordering, you can snag the laptop for an effective price of ₹2,84,290. This discounted price includes exchange and card discounts.
