Vi Partners With OnePlus To Create 5G Ecosystem In India

Vi (Vodafone Idea) and the premium smartphone brand OnePlus have partnered strategically to accelerate the expansion of the 5G device ecosystem in India. This agreement was announced just ahead of the India Mobile Congress 2022, which is scheduled to take place from the 1st to the 4th of October 2022 in New Delhi.

Across the first half of 2022, OnePlus emerged as the top 5G smartphone brand in online channels in the ₹20K–₹30K price range, according to Counterpoint India’s most recent channel share tracker for the second quarter of 2022. Top OnePlus phones including the OnePlus 10T, OnePlus 10 Pro, and OnePlus 10R, as well as the Nord 2T, Nord CE 2 Lite, and Nord CE 2, have all been tested in Delhi using 5G spectrum bands Vi has acquired.

In order to provide its 4G customers with the opportunity to upgrade their devices and make them 5G ready, the company said it will continue to collaborate with a wide range of OEMs in the future. Vi will also be demonstrating 5G tech at their booth during the India Mobile Congress 2022 and is encouraging existing customers to visit their booth to explore the future of 5G.

5G is the highlight of this year’s India Mobile Congress where the Indian Prime Minister is all set to officially announce the rollout of 5G services in select cities.
