WhatsApp is working on a new shortcut for Quick Replies for WhatsApp Business users, as spotted by WABetaInfo. The popular messaging app will also be rolling out an update which will indicate that your chat is end-to-end encrypted, throughout its UI.

You could promptly respond to texts by typing “/” in the chat box to select from frequently sent messages. You will soon be able to use the same Quick Replies feature directly from the chat share action menu.
This will give you another entry point to choose the Quick Replies option. This new shortcut is rolling out for select iOS and Android WhatsApp Business beta testers only, for now. However, there’s no word on when it will be available for public release.
WhatsApp End-To-End Encryption on Calls and Status
WhatsApp also appears to be preparing to roll out an update for its end-to-end encryption as well. The new change will now display that end-to-end encryption is present on all the calls as well as status. The screenshot shared by WABetaInfo shows that after navigating to the Calls menu, the following message is displayed at the bottom: “Your personal calls are end-to-end encrypted”. Another screenshot shows a similar message in the Status menu: “Your status is end-to-end encrypted.”
It is to be noted that this new update was seen on an under-development closed beta version of the app. It’s unclear when this feature will be available to the public.
WhatsApp has been on an update spree this year. Just a few months back, it rolled out multi-device support. In November, it added the WhatsApp Pay feature to allow you to send and receive money directly within the WhatsApp app. It had also rolled out the cashback feature for Android and iPhone beta users in India.
