WhatsApp numbers of around 500 million users from different countries have been reported to have leaked online. Reports suggest that the leaked WhatsApp information has been put up for sale on a popular hacking forum. This is said to be one of the biggest WhatsApp data breaches ever. As seen in the image above, there are around 32 million phone numbers reported from the US. Over 6 million WhatsApp users in India have been affected by this latest data leak. Similarly, data of millions of users from other countries including Egypt, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Bulgaria, and more, has also been compromised.

The report further suggests that the leaked WhatsApp data has been posted on a hacking platform for sale at $7,000 (roughly ₹5,72,000). Anyone who buys the data shall have access to the private information of over 500 million WhatsApp users. While there is no information as to how the data was acquired, the news source confirms that the leaked WhatsApp numbers are legit.
While there is no way to tell you if your WhatsApp data has been leaked, you are advised to stay alert and refrain from visiting any unknown links forwarded to you on the chatting platform.
