Discord has launched a Nitro Basic subscription plan, alongside a new Activities feature that allows users to watch YouTube videos or play casual games together over voice calls. The new feature comes more than a year after the removal of Discord YouTube bots from the communication platform. Using the new Activities feature, Discord members can create a playlist of videos and ask their friends to join the activity to watch and listen together. It is worth noting that the YouTube integration comes as a part of a broader Activities feature that is being rolled out to Discord users starting from today.

It also includes access to a variety of casual games. All Discord users will get access to YouTube Watch Together and a Putt Party golf game. However, users will need a Discord Nitro subscription to launch games such as poker, chess, sketch, and more. Only one person requires the subscription to launch these additional games. Once the game is launched, anyone can join in to play.
Apart from the new Activities feature, the free communication platform has also launched a new Discord Nitro Plan. The Nitro Basic subscription is priced at $2.99 (approx. ₹246) and will allow users to use custom emoji and upload 50MB files. Meanwhile, the regular $9.99 (approx. ₹822) Nitro plan also includes the server boosts, HD video streaming, animated avatars, and custom profiles over the basic plan. As for the launch, the Nitro basic will be available starting from October 20, 2022 in global markets.
