Fossil is starting to roll out the Wear OS 3 upgrade to its Gen 6 smartwatches today as promised at the unveiling of the new wellness suite a while back. This major upgrade for Gen 6 watches adds a brand-new interface that is essentially “vanilla” and is equivalent to the newly announced Pixel Watch.
While Gen 6 owners can request the Wear OS 3 upgrade through the Settings app since the release is being done gradually, the watches should already have it via OTA. The Fossil Gen 6, Skagen Falster Gen 6, Michael Kors Gen 6, and Razer x Fossil Gen 6 are all members of the Gen 6 family from Fossil, and they all will be receiving the Wear OS 3 update soon.

To set up and maintain the smartwatch, users must also download the new Fossil Smartwatches app, which is available for both Android and iOS.
Pinging your phone, adjusting brightness, enabling Touch lock, Do Not Disturb, Theater mode, Airplane mode, Battery (different icon), opening Settings, and turning on/off Ring are just a few of the major improvements in the latest Wear OS 3 release. Swiping down to show Quick settings and new icons for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and battery are among the other UI improvements. Interestingly, Google Assistant is missing from the watch for now, but for some reason Amazon Alexa is present.
