Apple has confirmed that it will release the iOS 16.1 update on October 24, 2022. The latest update to the Apple Operating System will be accompanied by the release of iPadOS 16.1, tvOS 16.1, and macOS Ventura 13.0. As for the changes, the iOS 16.1 update will bring along features such as Live activities, Matter support, iCloud shared photo library, Clean energy charging, and a tweaked battery percentage icon. Furthermore, it will allow users to subscribe to Apple Fitness+ directly from their iPhones. This means users will no longer need an Apple wearable to avail the Fitness+ benefits.

The feature will be made available to users across 21 countries—Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, the UAE, the UK, and the US.

After installing the update, iPhone users will have access to the entire service featuring over 3,000 studio-style workouts and meditations, all led by a diverse and inclusive team of trainers. Users will also see onscreen trainer guidance and interval timing, and estimated calories burned will be used to make progress on their Move ring.
If you buy a new iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, you can get three free months of Fitness+. You will need an iPhone to sign up, after which you can use Fitness+ on iPads and Apple TV too. Fitness+ subscription costs $9.99 (approx. ₹827) per month or $79.99 (approx. ₹6,624) per year and can be shared with up to five family members.
In addition, iOS 16.1 will also introduce iCloud Shared Photo Library support that allows you to share photos with up to five other people who can add, edit, and remove them from your iCloud. Plus, it will add features such as:
- Live Activities for Third-Party Apps
- Clean Energy Charging
- Matter Accessories in Home App
- Apple Card Savings Account
- Reachability Support for Dynamic Island
- Key Sharing in Wallet App
