Taking a leaf from its Windows platform, Microsoft is planning to bring the Night Mode feature to its gaming consoles. As per the software giant, Night Mode will be first seeded to Xbox Insiders in Alpha Skip-Ahead ring via a software update. The feature will make the screen easier on the eyes during the night, especially when the lights in the room are turned off.

The feature will allow users to dim their screens. Much like what has been seen on smartphones and Windows laptops, Xbox will offer a blue light filter that adds a yellow tint to the display. On top of that, there will be an option to dim the Xbox logo LED on the controller as well as the console.
The Verge’s Tom Warren reports that the Night Mode can be scheduled. You can set it to automatically turn on at sunset or create your own plan. Microsoft notes that it is yet to localize this feature, which means that it is only available in English.
In addition to this new feature, the latest build squashes a couple of known bugs. For starters, the error that used to cause apps from launching has been ironed out. The company has also addressed the Xbox Cloud Gaming-related bug that failed some titles to fire up.
