Microsoft has introduced a new Microsoft 365 app to replace the existing Microsoft Office app on Windows. While the existing app is mainly used for quick access to built-in Office apps, the new app is designed to do more than just that by providing additional apps, relevant documents, and other useful information. While the Microsoft Office app just supported built-in Office apps, the new one includes all Microsoft apps. Additionally, there is a separate section for third-party apps and company apps. Furthermore, users will get a feed for seeing what meetings are coming up and personalized recommendations from Microsoft’s Graph network.

Jared Spataro, CVP of modern work at Microsoft. said, “The new Microsoft 365 app is one part of our larger strategy and focus as a company on Microsoft 365 and is reflective of the innovation we’ve strived to deliver as work and life continue to evolve.”
Unlike the existing Office app, the new Microsoft 365 app won’t be limited to commercial customers. Other consumers and students will also be able to take advantage of it. It is worth noting that Microsoft 365 subscriptions were offered for consumers back in 2020. It included access to various services including Office, Teams, and more. Currently, there are over 59.7 million users of the service.
