To do so, you will have to tap and hold on the message you want to edit, then select the three-dotted icon on the top and choose the Edit option. The feature will prove extremely useful in case you accidentally send a typo and want to correct it. However, there’s no word on whether it will show off the edit history or the ability to examine the changes in the chat.

As the feature is currently in testing phase, we can expect the company to add the history feature to let the recipient know of the changes. However, WhatsApp has not yet specified an exact timeframe within which the text message can be edited. As mentioned earlier, the Edit feature is currently being tested in beta version. We can expect the feature to be rolled out in the stable version soon.
