- Pinch-to-zoom: The feature allows users to zoom in on video previews to easily find the section of the video they are looking for. Besides, it also lets users rewind or fast-forward videos to an exact location. When you scroll through a video, YouTube will open up a frame-by-frame view for users to find and watch a certain section of the content. The platform started testing the feature back in August this year.

- New Ambient Mode: The latest YouTube update also brings along a new Ambient Mode, which uses “dynamic colour sampling,” to make the app background adapt the colours in the video you’re watching. The Ambient Mode will also tint your phone’s status bar and the strip that contains the video’s title just below the player. The feature will also be extended to videos in playlists so that users are no longer distracted by the background bordering of the video they’re watching. YouTube’s Ambient Mode is now available on web and mobile when dark them is enabled.
- New Subscribe Button Design: The subscribe button on YouTube is also getting a new design with the latest rollout. It will now have higher contrast, and the company thinks it is “easier to find and way more accessible” even if it’s no longer red. Besides, the links in video descriptions will also appear in the form of buttons.
- New YouTube Buttons and Thumbnails: YouTube has also introduced several new buttons including like, Share, Download, and Save. All these have been “formatted to minimize distractions”. Also, the YouTube video thumbnails will now appear with rounded corners.
