Smartphone displays are evolving constantly. Gone are the days when bad viewing angles, washed-out and pixellated displays, and slow-touch responses used to be a thing. Over the past few years, almost all smartphone brands have started using high-refresh-rate displays. Now, even mid-range and some affordable smartphones feature high-refresh-rate screens. This article contains a list of Xiaomi smartphones with a high refresh rate display.
All smartphones have at least a 60Hz refresh rate display, so we have taken 90Hz as a standard benchmark for a mobile phone’s display refresh rate to be ‘high refresh rate’, so all smartphones on this list feature 90Hz or higher refresh rates.

These are all the smartphones under the Xiaomi umbrella (POCO, Redmi, and Xiaomi) that feature a high refresh rate display. On top of these, the company is expected to launch its Redmi Note 11 series smartphones, Xiaomi 11T, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Redmi 10 2022, POCO X4 series, and POCO F4 GT in Q1, 2022. All these upcoming phones are expected to feature a high refresh rate display. When these smartphones launch, we will add them to this list.
What Is High Refresh Rate Display & Why Is It Important?
Refresh rate is the number that denotes how many times a display refreshes content in a second. All laptops, smartphones, tablets, and TVs come with at least a 60Hz refresh rate. Hence, 60Hz is the standard refresh rate on most screens. Some devices have higher displays with higher refresh rates such as 75Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, 165Hz, or even 240Hz. The higher the refresh rate, the smoother things appear on the display.
Smartphone with a relatively high refresh rate display allows for a much smoother interaction with the screen compared to the standard 60Hz refresh rate. And it can result in smoother animations, scrolling, and gaming. This means that navigating through the phone’s software interface, watching videos, or playing games feels smoother and more responsive when compared to a 60Hz display.
Since the primary mode of interaction with a smartphone is its display, a high-refresh-rate display results in a smoother and richer experience every time you use the device.
