OnePlus Nord 2 5G With 90Hz AMOLED Display, Dimensity 1200-AI Processor Launched in India

OnePlus has finally launched the OnePlus Nord 2 5G in India. It is the successor to the OnePlus Nord, and it brings improvements over its predecessor. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G features the same 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED display that was used in the original Nord, but it now features a much more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI processor, a better 50MP camera (Sony IMX766) with OIS, and a larger battery with faster charging.

The OnePlus Nord 2’s price in India starts at ₹27,999 for the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB. The variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs ₹29,999. The highest-end variant of the smartphone, which has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, costs ₹34,999. These prices are similar to the information that was leaked earlier.

The 8GB RAM variant in Blue Haze and Gray Sierra colours will be available to existing Red Cable Club members from July 26 and July 27 during the Red Cable First Sale on OnePlus.in, OnePlus Experience Stores, and the OnePlus Store app.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be available via open sale through Amazon, Bajaj Electronics, Croma, Poorvika Mobiles, Reliance Digital, Sangeetha Mobiles, Vijay Sales, and other retail partners. The 6GB RAM and 12GB RAM variants will be available sometime in August, and the company has not revealed the exact date for those models.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G Specifications, Features

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G comes with a 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,400 pixels). The display panel has a 90Hz refresh rate, an aspect ratio of 20:9, ‘Video Enhancement’, and ‘AI-Super Resolution’. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G features a 50MP+8MP+2MP triple-camera setup at the rear. The 50MP camera (Sony IMX766 sensor) has dual-pixel PDAF (phase-detection autofocus) and OIS. The 8MP camera has an ultrawide lens. The 2MP camera uses a monochrome sensor, and we don’t think it is of any use. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.

The phone comes equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200-AI chipset. It is a custom variant of the Dimensity 1200, which has been developed in partnership with OnePlus. This chipset claims to offer enhanced display performance and an improved photography experience when compared to the vanilla Dimensity 1200. The chipset has the ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU for handling graphics. Performance-wise, the Dimensity 1200 offers performance that’s somewhere between that of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870.

The phone has 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage. It lacks an SD card slot, so storage expansion isn’t possible. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G runs Android 11 out of the box with OxygenOS 11.3, which is based on the codebase of OPPO’s ColorOS 11.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is powered by a 4500mAh battery. It features 65W Warp Charge for fast charging and comes with a 65W fast charger in the box. Connectivity-wise, the Nord 2 5G has a dual-SIM card slot, dual-4G VoLTE, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Other features of the phone include an in-display fingerprint reader and stereo speakers.
